Who wouldn't want a triceratops handbag?

I fell in love "tout de suit" as I saw them. They brought back cloudy memories of my 10 year old self - the age when I was fascinated by dinos, watched Denver and was afraid of T-Rexes. Though I have to confess I always thought triceratopses were the cheesiest of them all, since the Giles Spring-Summer show I am convinced - Triceratopses are COOL. Especially if they come as a fashion accessory. No, not in the usual "inspired by" way. The "actual dino on the catwalk way". As actual as they can be, an extinct-reptile-teddy-handbag is a good try - now I only have to decide which one I love more  the copper-green metallic one or the grey velvet.

Definitely my next DIY project, I already have some metallic fabric that'll do. I only need to find a way to recreate a 3D dinosaur from scratch... buying a stuffed one and turn it into a handbag wouldn't be the "couturiere-way" to do so.
Anyhow I will get one to wear with my Tromp l'oeil dress --> SS10 look No1

By the way dinos and fashion: love the velociraptors on Oxford street - check them out!

Date for your Diary - 5th February

Designer-high street collaborations don't count as news anymore but this one is worth waiting for. Louise Goldin is launching her first shoe collection for Topshop. The heels are bang on trend for spring/summer ( almost identical pairs walked the designer's fashion show in september) but will last you for seasons to come. The colours show the inspiration from the Baroque period while the studs and gems bring it up to date and make it edgy. Prices start from £150 and will be available to buy from the website and Topshop stores Oxford Circus, Liverpool and Manchester. There's only two things to remember, 1: be quick and expect to queue or stay up the night before to buy it online; and 2: you must buy some lurex ankle socks to achieve THE look of SS2010. Good luck!

Double Take - Sparkly Brogues

So the pair on the left is £380 and is the work of Christian Louboutin who needs no introduction although he's better know for his 4 inch high creations. The shoe on the right is 95% cheaper at £15 from the Oasis sale. It's a great interpretation of the designer pair and a must if you're getting tired of your ballet flats. just wait untill the snow melts as they're not amazing on ice.

The Edward Cullen Coat

Snow is here and with temperatures well under 0 degrees it's here to stay. What better time for all those guys who are 'toughing it out' and still wearing their hoodies and/or bodywarmwers to buy a winter coat. For those who want a safe but stylish choice that goes equally well with their Jack Wills' and those dreaded fitted trousers your girlfriend makes you wear, enter the 'Edward Cullen Jacket'. It was custom made for Robert Pattinson in the movie Twilight but there are plenty of alternatives on the high street and online to choose from.

Berrett Wool Jacket from REISS £95

Military Peacoat from TOPMAN £80

Long Wool Coat from River Island £95

D&G Maria Callas Tee

This t-shirt has been on my wishlist since I first saw it in D&G's Autumn/Winter 2009/10 catwalk show but it's finally reduced to £60! It also comes in blue and burgundy and will make a great present for my friend but I can't help but want to recreate the whole outfit as it came down the runway. Just add this net ballerina skirt from Lipsy (£38) and a cropped fur jacket like this one from Oasis (£40) and you are guaranteed the most glamorous outfit for a date at the opera. Don't forget the cream coloured tights and brocate platforms to finish off the look and for a literal interpretation you cannot leave the curtain tassels at home (available from most haberdashers).
